This April and May, CMOC held three Zone Day events for our primary and Year 7/8 orienteers. We hosted over 1000 children at these three events!
Students from schools all over the South Island from Takaka to Invercargill, and Christchurch to Westport are invited to compete in the SISS Orienteering Championships in Nelson, the weekend of 8 & 9 July 2023.
In addition to finding out the new South Island 2023 orienteering champions, SISS is part of secondary schools’ Te Tau Ihu NavSport Festival 2023, also incorporating the NZ Rogaine Champs and the NZ Orienteering Champs, both in the Blenheim area in the days following the South Island Champs.
Students from the North Island are welcome to use the South Island Champs as a final training event for the upcoming National navigation events, the National Rogaine Champs and the National Orienteering Champs, both in the Marlborough region. North Island-based students can participate in SISSOC, but their results will be registered as non-competitive.

At Counties Manukau Orienteering Club (CMOC), we love orienteering: Participating, delivering, and teaching it… And we’d like to know, so that we can improve, what you like and what you would like to see more of (or less of). We would love if you would take our survey: CMOC Schools Orienteering Programme Feedback
This survey will focus on the first three months of CMOC’s School Orienteering Programme’s deliveries, mainly the Eastern Zone Sprint Series, the Southern Zone Sprint Series, and the Zone Days. It should take you around 5 to 10 minutes to fill this out.
We are a very strongly youth-focussed organisation. If you’re a parent, we’d love your feedback, and we’d also love it if you helped your children tell us how they thought we did too!
Entries are now open for King’s Birthday Weekend of O 2023! Visit entero.co.nz to register.

On 2 April, CMOC will be hosting a buildup event on farmland near Waiuku. All are welcome, particularly beginners!
