Georgia Skelton – Junior Mountain Bike Orienteer

One of our club members, Georgia Skelton represented NZ at the Australian Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships in 2017 in the Open Womens Grade and achieved top three places in two events. This was a remarkable achievement because she was only 15 at the time.  She gave a talk about mountain bike orienteering at the AGM in December, which is reproduced below. Martin Peat wins prestigious award

On Friday 18 March, Martin Peat won the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand’s 2016 “Young New Zealand Engineer of the Year Award”.  Martin has been a member of our club from his early school days at Kings College and has represented the club and New Zealand at all levels of our sport, including the Junior World Orienteering Championship and the University World Orienteering Championship.   He has also been a member of the executive committee of the club for many years and played a key role in the organisation of many of the major events the club has hosted, such as National Championships.  Congratulations Martin, a thoroughly deserved...
