Entry Age Groups
· Year 7&8 entries please email [email protected]
All other year levels, please enter via College Sport’s SPORTY
- Year 9 Junior
- Year 10 & 11 Intermediate
- Year 12 & 13 Senior
Please note that we encourage parents, and also the teachers at each week’s host school to join us for a free run on the day.
Entries for Eastern Zone events will close on the Friday (at 2pm) prior to each event and then reopened the morning after the event, the for the subsequent week’s entries.
Entries received after the closing date may be accepted at the discretion of either College Sport, or (for Year 7&8s) Counties Manukau Orienteering.
Prices: due to cost pressures and a change in Sport Funder priorities, this year we are unable to deliver the Series in entirety at zero cost to participants. Year 7&8 will remain free, however there will be a $5 fee, per student per event for Years 9 and above. We’re proud to have been able to deliver these events at zero cost for many years, to remain the least expensive across the region, and will be seeking alternate arrangements for future years to hopefully remove this barrier to participation again.
There are three Orienteering Clubs that deliver the sport across the broader Auckland region (and some northern Waikato countryside). As mentioned above, this year it is Counties Manukau’s turn to run the regional Sprint Championship. This is scheduled to be held on 6 April, and consists of two events, a morning event (at Macleans College) and also an afternoon event (at St Kentigern College).
Due to the slightly abbreviated event calendar (above), we will be offering the opportunity for Eastern Zone schools to run in a regular (non-championship) format at the Sprint Championship events, on the same courses. Details to follow.
