The Auckland Secondary School Rogaine Championship for 2020 will be held at Totara Park on 8 September.

July 5 event at Woodhill Forest

AOS 2 – Whitelines, Woodhill Forest – 05 July Pre-Entry Required

This is just to confirm that North West Orienteering Club will be hosting AOS2 ( was AOS6) in Woodhill Forest on the Whites Line map on 5 July 2020 as previously scheduled.

Entry is via Rimmers Road, off SH6.

The club is encouraging pre-entry for this event to help manage contact tracking at  Covid19 level one.

Enter O has not been updated to reflect family maximum cost of $40 for club members but the usual AOS rates DO apply as below.

Online Orienteering Coaching Sessions

Two of NZ’s elite orienteers, Gene Beveridge and Thomas Reynolds, who have represented NZ at World Orienteering Championships, have co-hosted online orienteering coaching sessions aimed at orienteers moving from intermediate (orange in NZ) to advanced (red in NZ) navigation.

Orienteering activities under Covid 19 – Orienteering NZ guidelines

As an orienteering club, we must comply with Orienteering New Zealand (ONZ) guidelines that have been released. The most recent guidelines can be found here.

Key elements of the Guidelines are below (key point is to avoid congregation in large groups)

  • Clubs not rushing in 
  • maximum of 100 people per football field is not comparable or suitable for orienteering 
  • no congregation of more than 10 people in one area
  • spread timings of congregation over the day
  • 2m social distancing
  • No contact with organizers etc

AOS 8 Event – Change of date

We have had to change the date of the AOS event to held on the Waiuku Forest North map. It will now be held on Sunday 23 August instead of 16 August
