Join CMOC for our next forest orienteering event – AOS9, Waiuku Forest South, on 22 August. Starts between 10am and 12.30pm (control pickup at 1.30pm).

There will be courses suitable for all ages and experience. Beginners are welcome, and club members will be available to provide basic instruction.

Directions (signposted from Waiuku – look for the orange and white ORIENTEERING signs): Take the Otaua Road South to Forestry Road to Ghezzie Road, to forest entrance. Follow forest road 3km to parking. Forest road has many deep potholes. Drive slowly and carefully.

Much of the map has not been used for many years.

Scales 1:10000 and 1:7500
Contour Interval: 3.5m
Terrain: Coastal sand dunes, pine forest with understory of runnable pampas grass in places. Full leg covering advisable.

Sport ident is available for $3 hire at the event. Online entries are encouraged but entries will be accepted on the day. Depending upon availability of maps.

Entry fees are as follows:
Club Members: Adults $20, Juniors/Students/Seniors 65+ $10, Family $40, SPORTident hire free.
Non-Club Members: Adults $30, Juniors/Students/Seniors 65+ $15, Family $60, SPORTident hire $3.
